BIGBLUE K1600 is a small-group, ultra-luxury motorcycle touring company based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape, South Africa. It runs all-inclusive, two-up tours on BMW K1600 GT and GTL motorcycles for four couples — eight guests — at a time, across the Eastern Cape mountain passes, the Great Karoo and the Garden Route.
The tour is R185 000 per couple, all-inclusive. That covers the BMW K1600 (provided, fully fuelled and insured), all fuel, 10 nights in hand-picked 3- to 5-star and luxury accommodation, full breakfasts and multi-course dinners with limited drinks at dinner, an open-vehicle safari game drive at a private game reserve, all park and entrance fees, a dedicated support vehicle and full luggage transfer, and the lead ride captain and crew throughout. A 50% deposit secures your place; the balance is due before departure. Travel to and from Gqeberha, travel insurance, lunches and optional excursions are not included.
It starts and finishes in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape. Beginning here rather than in Cape Town avoids heavy traffic and premium prices, and puts you on quiet, scenic coastal and inland roads from the first day. The route is a loop, so there are no one-way transfers to arrange.
Eleven days and ten nights, covering roughly 1 453 km of riding. The pace is deliberately unhurried, with generous stops and one full rest day out of the saddle.
There are three exclusive departures each year: Summer (February / March), Winter (June / July) and Spring (August / September). The next confirmed departure is the “Majestic Mountain to Sea” tour, 11–21 February 2027.
No. You can ride the BMW K1600 yourself with a valid motorcycle licence, or take the pillion seat behind one of the tour captains and simply enjoy the journey. The tour is designed for couples and companions to share.
Yes — that is exactly who it is for. This is a high-end travel experience, not an endurance run or an aggressive pack ride, with comfortable afternoons, ocean views and fine dining alongside the riding.
The BMW K1600 GT or GTL — BMW’s six-cylinder grand tourer, built for long, comfortable distance two-up. Machines are provided fully fuelled and insured, fitted with panniers, with heated seats and an electronic screen for the cold Karoo mornings.
